All raw material orders will be shipped via LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight. Our Simple Clean Products Distribution team will reach out to provide an on-the-spot quote for shipping hazardous materials (HazMat) to ensure the best possible shipping rate for our customers.

Safety Precautions for Sodium Metasilicate Pentahydrate

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

• Always wear appropriate PPE, including gloves, goggles, and face shields to protect against splashes.
• Use long-sleeved clothing and rubber boots to prevent skin contact.

Ventilation:

• Ensure adequate ventilation in the work area to avoid inhaling fumes.
• Use a fume hood or work in an open area if possible.

Storage:

• Store sodium metasilicate pentahydrate in a cool, dry place, away from incompatible materials (e.g., acids, organic materials).
• Keep containers tightly closed and labeled.

Handling:

• Always add sodium metasilicate pentahydrate to water, never the reverse, to prevent exothermic reactions.
• Use caution when measuring and transferring to avoid spills.

First Aid:

• In case of skin contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
• If inhaled, move to fresh air and seek medical help if breathing difficulties occur.
• For eye contact, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes and seek medical attention.
